Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Computer Solution LLC (“The Computer Solution,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and shares the information you provide when you contact us, check in a device, or use our website and services in Durango, Colorado. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here. This policy works alongside our Terms & Conditions.
The short version
We collect only what we need to help you and run our business. We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing. We never see, store, or accept your credit card numbers ourselves; payments are handled by trusted third-party providers. You can contact us at any time to ask about, correct, or request deletion of your information.
Information we collect
We collect the following, depending on how you interact with us:
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number, and the message you send.
- Check-in form: your name, email address, phone number, whether it is okay to text you, the make and model of your device, your computer login (optional, and only the login to the computer itself, never your email or online-account passwords), accessories you leave with the device, a description of the issue, and how you heard about us.
- When you call or text: the contact details and any information you share to describe the problem or arrange service.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our site may use cookies and analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This may include your approximate location, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. This information is used in aggregate and is not used to personally identify you. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Payment information
We never see, touch, store, or accept your full credit card number, and we do not take card details in writing or over the phone. When you pay, your card or bank information is entered with and handled by a third-party payment provider (such as Wave, Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, or another platform you choose, as well as DashNex credits where applicable). Those providers process your payment under their own privacy policies. We receive only confirmation of payment and basic transaction records for our books.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and provide the repair or service you request.
- To diagnose, service, and return your device, and to contact you with updates, questions, estimates, and invoices.
- To arrange drop-off, pickup, and appointments, including by text message when you have given us your number.
- To keep accurate business and financial records.
- To request a review after a completed and paid invoice, where you have done business with us.
- To maintain, protect, and improve our website and services.
Text messages
If you give us your phone number and indicate that it is okay to text you, we may send text messages limited to service updates, requests to call us back, and arranging appointments such as dropping off or picking up a device. We do not send marketing text messages. You can opt out at any time by telling us, and standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers: trusted companies that help us operate, such as our website host and platform (DashNex, on Cloudflare infrastructure), our email provider, our analytics provider, and our payment processors. They may access information only as needed to perform their service for us.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others.
- Business transfer: if The Computer Solution is ever sold or its assets are transferred to a new owner, client and contact records may be transferred to that new owner as part of the business, so they can continue to serve you. We will not otherwise sell or distribute your information.
Data on devices we service
When you bring or send us a device, servicing it may require access to the files and settings on it. We access only what is necessary to diagnose and complete the work you have requested, and we keep what we see confidential. Please see our Terms & Conditions for details on data, backups, and our limitation of liability.
How long we keep your information
We keep client and contact information indefinitely as part of our business records, including transaction history and records that may pass to a future owner if the business is sold. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time, and we will honor your request except where we are required, or have a legitimate business or legal reason, to retain certain records.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share, both physically and electronically. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you prefer not to send sensitive information such as a computer login through our online form, you are welcome to provide it in person instead.
Your choices and rights
You can decline to provide information, though some of it may be needed to perform a service. You can opt out of text messages or review requests at any time. Depending on your state of residence, including for Colorado residents, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to request its deletion. To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below.
Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our website may link to other sites, such as a backup service we recommend. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
