Speed it back up

Make your slow computer fast again

A slow computer isn’t something you have to live with, but it also isn’t always a quick fix. We start by finding out what’s actually dragging it down, clear out the startup clutter, junk, and any malware, and tune the system so it boots faster and runs smoother.

Here’s the honest part: a tune-up handles most machines, but sometimes the diagnostic reveals a deeper cause, a failing drive, too little memory, or simply age. When that happens, we tell you straight, with real numbers, so you can spend your money where it actually helps.

What’s really going on

What actually slows a computer down

Startup clutter & bloat

Too many programs loading at boot, browser tabs, and leftover junk dragging everything down.

Not enough RAM

Modern apps and browsers are memory-hungry; older machines run out and start crawling.

A full or failing drive

A nearly-full or dying hard drive is one of the most common, and most overlooked, causes of slowness.

Software issues (rarely a “virus”)

Outdated software, bad updates, or misbehaving programs. A slow computer is very rarely an actual virus.

The honest options

Three ways a slow computer goes, and we’ll tell you which

Not every slow computer should be optimized. After the assessment, your machine usually falls into one of these:

01

A tune-up does it

Most computers that aren’t too old just need the junk cleared and the bottlenecks fixed. That’s the flat-rate $127 optimization, done.

02

It needs a hardware boost

Sometimes the honest answer is a single upgrade, usually an SSD or more RAM, that makes an older machine feel brand new.

03

It’s time to replace

Past a certain age, a new computer is simply the smarter money, and we’ll tell you that honestly instead of selling you a repair that won’t hold.

Slow computer & optimization FAQs

How much does a performance tune-up cost?
A flat $127, even if it takes six hours. If it ever does take that long, something bigger is going on, and we’ll stop and talk through your options before running up the bill. You get a free assessment first, and we only invoice once your computer is actually running better.
Why is my computer so slow?
Usually one of a few things: too many programs loading at startup, not enough RAM, a nearly-full or failing drive, outdated software, or simply age. Sometimes it’s malware. A proper diagnostic is the only way to know which one is overwhelming your machine. Guessing wastes your money.
Is my slow computer a virus?
Almost never. A slow or glitchy computer is far more often a hardware or software problem than an actual virus. Even basic Windows Defender catches most real viruses. We diagnose the true cause instead of assuming the worst.
What if a tune-up isn’t enough to fix it?
Then we tell you honestly. Sometimes optimizing reveals the machine needs an SSD or RAM upgrade, and sometimes it’s old enough that a new computer is the smarter spend. You’ll get a clear recommendation either way, never a surprise charge.
How long does it take?
Best case, same day for a straightforward software tune-up. Realistically, 1–2 days. We always set best / realistic / worst-case expectations up front so you’re never left guessing.
